Advertising vs Actuality

Let's face it, there are more gutter guard options now than ever. And with that comes advertising and promises of flashy can't get it anywhere else products. Most throw in some kind of discount if you act in the moment. But what are you really getting? Most of the time, not much to be completely honest.
With the array of gutter protection let's talk about what to avoid and why. I have seen it all. Anything like foam that is put inside of your gutter is a complete waste of money and not only will it hold debris, but it will grow mold and plants out of it. Any gutter guard that has slits or holes in them will absolutely accumulate debris in them no matter how much a salesman would claim otherwise. These gutter guards need to be taken off and gutters cleaned out regularly. So what was the point of getting them to begin with? Anything plastic or PVC. The weather conditions are not their friend. within a year or so you will see signs of bending and warping and they do not last. I don't care what the company claims, the proof is in the pudding. So where does that leave us? Metal gutter guards with micromesh. They remain strong and keep out all debris. BUT these are NOT all created equally. Some have much better functionality than others and you should pay close attention to the design and use your discernment in choosing what's best for you. That is the reason that I have ONLY been installing Leaf Blaster Pro for the past 6 years. It checks all the boxes including features for water absorption that no other gutter guard offers. But don't just take my word for it. Do the research if you're skeptical.
Another thing to be aware of is gutter guard installation shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. You should be able to get the work you need done at a fair price.
Take your time and look and when it comes to gutter guard do it once, do it right.
